Computing Solutions Inc.’s Configuration personnel led by a CSI Project Manger will join with your staff to form a LIMS Team that will be responsible to “work through” the implementation process. The LIMS Team will participate in scheduled weekly conference calls to discuss and monitor the progress of action items. The weekly conference call will often include live remote demonstrations of your actual LabSoft LIMS configuration. The LIMS Team will work together to complete the following stages of Implementation:
- Discovery - The initial phase of Implementation is called Discovery. This crucial step lays the foundation of a successful system. The major goals of this phase are focused on analyzing the current business terminology, data relationships, and business workflows that will be affected by the incoming LabSoft LIMS system, and to document the short and long term goals of the implementation.
- Demo Configuration - CSI will configure a Proof of Concept Demo configuration of your LabSoft LIMS database to facilitate discussions within the LIMS team at the weekly conference call. This demo configuration will start to address terminology, workflows, and goals uncovered in the Discovery phase.
- System Administrator Training - System Administrator training empowers your LIMS Team members with knowledge about LabSoft LIMS that will give them the ability not only to maintain and grow the LabSoft LIMS system, but to also be active partners within the LIMS Team for the implementation process.
- Pilot Configuration - A very important phase of the project is when the LIMS Team gathers and analyzes the knowledge gained from the Discovery, Demo Configuration, and System Administrator training creating a working Pilot system. This pre-go live step provides the opportunity for the LIMS Team to present the LIMS system to the end-users in a working environment for testing. This is often the first opportunity for the true “customers” of the project to provide feedback to help determine the true usability of the system.
- Go Live - The LabSoft LIMS system is put into production after a successful Pilot rollout, the goals have been met, the legacy data has been imported, and the business interfaces have been proven. The LIMS team will continue to meet weekly as needed to discuss the progress of any remaining punch list action items. The CSI support team will start to take over ongoing support and maintenance of the LIMS System insuring a long successful system life.
